Here are some down-to-earth, hard-hitting tips designed to help you with your business. I pull no punches, and if you don’t like what you read, too bad. These are all truths that will help you, and many of these things are what are preventing you from getting anywhere in your business. Take them one at a time, and work your way down the list. The end results will speak for themselves.

I speak from experience. I’ve been there, done that, and it sucks. I hope to help you avoid my mistakes and bypass some of the pain in learning this crazy Internet marketing business.

So, here are my tips. As I think of new ones I’ll add them to the list.

Tip #1

Take a page from the Nike playbook and “Just Do It!” Zig Zigler uses the phrase “analysis paralysis.” Stop analyzing your business, stop looking for the “holy grail” and just do it. So what if you don’t like what the page looks like. Get it out to the public and worry about the details later. So what if there is a mistake, you’re not making money analyzing, you will make money if you get it in front of your buying public. They will buy, in spite of the mistakes.

Tip #2

Forget your ideas! The biggest mistake is buying a product or service without researching the market. A PLR product is useless if no one is buying it. Find out what people want, then find or create a product to meet that market want. People buy what they want, not what they need. People buy on emotion, not common sense. Find a hungry market and feed it.

Tip #3

Forget your ideas. Huh? I just said that. Yes, but this is a little different. You don’t know what you are doing, so stop trying to do it your way. If your way worked, everyone else would be doing it that way. Find out what works, and you do it that way. It works, so don’t try to change it. Once you are an accomplished online marketer (making 100K per year or more), then you can try something different. Until then, stick with what works.

Tip #4

Specialize. One of the biggest mistakes newbies make is to jump from one program to the next looking for that magic elixir that will make them rich. It ain’t-a-gonna happen. There is no magic program that you can buy that will start pouring money into your PayPal account overnight. It may be pouring money into the guru’s PayPal account from all the suckers that bought his program, but that’s about it. Find something you like and stick with it until you are the expert. Very few pro athletes are good at everything. They play thier sport, get good at their position, then they make lots of money and are in great demand. A 3-point shooter does that well, but may not be very good at other aspects of the game. He just knows to get in position, someone will pass him the ball, and he shoots for a 3-point basket. He eats, sleeps, lives, walks, talks, and above all practices his 3-point shots. That’s his game and he gets paid well. Internet marketing is no different. Find your niche, work it until you can do it in your sleep, and you will be paid well.

Tip #5

Turn off the damned email! “Oh, I’ve got to keep up on the latest happenings. I might miss something if I don’t.” In a word “Bull crap!” Well, that’s two words, but that’s the fact. You don’t need to keep up with all the latest and greatest. All they do is fragment your thinking and keep you from focusing on what you do well. If a newsletter is only trying to sell you the latest and greatest, unsubscribe. When you find what you want, only subscribe to newsletters that concern that particular niche. None of the others matter. How much crap do you have cluttering your hard drive that you’ve never used. Every bit of it was going to make your first million. Did it? The next one won’t either. Stop it! Clean up your inbox, unclutter your mind, and focus on one thing at a time. You don’t need to keep buying to be successful. You need to start selling. Some people are just addicted to buying.
